After a lengthy career in mainframe computers, Alan has become an industry leader in the field of ICT and its applications in public and private sectors. Involved with smartcards and biometrics at a very early stage, Alan has continued to develop his in depth knowledge and represents the UK on smartcard standards bodies as well as leads in other European ICT projects.

Alan has successfully founded a number of technology companies, one of which went on to be publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange.

He is an advisor to UK Government including sitting on the Cabinet Office eGU smartcard steering committee, as well as being closely associated with the leading biometric organisations in Europe.

As a founder of ALCO, Alan is responsible for all aspects of technical expertise, for the successful completion of project commitments and the strategic direction of the ALCO Group.
