Data Sharing

Data sharing is an important element of ICT based services. Access anytime, anywhere to a wide variety of information coming from many sources will only work if data sharing is properly implemented. But….

How much data can and should be shared? How do you avoid the problems associated with sharing all or nothing? How should confidentiality be maintained and how will your data sharing activities be perceived by the customer? Will different departments be willing to lose control of their data?

All are difficult issues to address, but they can be tackled and many are succeeeding in sharing data. One possible solution is to share data only at the point of delivery, and under the customer’s control and authorisation. Other solutions are also at hand.
