The City of Budapest Transit Authority had developed a business case to introduce electronic ticketing but radical changes to its own structure and operations meant that an urgent review of the continuing robustness of the case was needed. ALCO Consulting carried out a thorough expert review and challenge, providing a report that enabled the city to move forward.

Project Assurance Reviews provide a ‘short, sharp – moment in time’ view of how well a project is doing. The reviews are designed to provide constructive recommendations and ensure the project is given every opportunity for success. Reviews are carried out at key points during a project’s life and provide the project manager with the earliest indication of variation against plan together with an indication of remedial action to be taken or, reviews may be undertaken on behalf of project sponsors, owners or those with ‘political’ responsibility. The latter type of review often has a wider, more strategic remit and may focus on outcome over process.
