The myki smart ticketing project in Melbourne has had a difficult development history.
The objective of the commission was firstly to assess the chances of successfully t implementing the project and then to provide the necessary independent oversight to enable government to guide the project to a successful conclusion.
ALCO Consulting were appointed initially as expert reviewers to assess the technical state of the project, and advise on the likelihood of being able to implement it successfully within revised scope parameters.
Subsequently ALCO were appointed by the Department of Treasury and Finance to provide independent oversight and scrutiny during the project’s remaining build phase.
